Socioeconomically and racially integrated schools are beneficial to all students who attend them, because integration in public schools is important to fostering tolerant adults and good citizens. Students educated in diverse settings have been shown to develop higher-level critical thinking and cognitive skills. And when low-income students graduate and search for jobs, those in economically mixed schools have access to valuable networks that facilitate employment. This publication focuses on the benefits to all students when schools are diverse and inclusive.
