This half-day virtual learning experience provides an opportunity for participants to engage in shared learning about the harmful effects of the model minority myth on Asian students and how it obscures anti-Asian discrimination within educational settings. Participants will explore how this stereotype impacts students’ mental health, academic expectations, and identity development, while reinforcing systemic inequities and limiting access to meaningful support. Through an equity-focused lens, the session provides strategies for educators to recognize and address the unique challenges Asian students face, fostering a more inclusive and affirming environment.

Note: This event is only open to individuals from school boards, state municipalities, school districts, or other governmental units legally responsible for operating a public school or schools, or from a federally funded technical assistance and dissemination center.
