This half-day virtual learning experience provides an opportunity for participants to engage in shared learning on navigating the complexities of religion in public schools, with a focus on distinguishing between “teaching religion” and “teaching about religion.” Participants will explore how religious diversity and inclusion impact student experiences and examine the legal and ethical considerations involved in addressing religion in educational settings. Through an equity-centered approach, this session equips educators with strategies to create inclusive classrooms that respect diverse religious identities while fostering critical understanding, empathy, and respect among students.

Note: This event is only open to individuals from school boards, state municipalities, school districts, or other governmental units legally responsible for operating a public school or schools, or from a federally funded technical assistance and dissemination center.
