Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) convenes leaders in state education agencies, teacher preparation programs, school districts, and other key stakeholders to focus on strategies to diversify the future teaching workforce and to ensure all teachers are prepared to use their students’ racial and cultural identity as an asset in their learning. These state representatives are examining their current systems that have contributed to the lack of diversity in the teacher workforce and working with educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders to create the necessary changes to achieve a more diverse teacher workforce.
