Created in response to recent requests for assistance we have received in our 13-state Region, in this edition of Equity Express we explore educators' responses to students’ use of the “n word” (hereafter, referred to as “the word”) in schools. Specifically, this Express provides scenarios that center the complexity of this issue, emphasizing that not only is this topic highly contested across all demographic--context matters, particularly related to historical uses and connotations of the word.
