EquiLearn Virtual Roundtable: Universal Design for Learning, and the Woope Sakowin (Seven Laws): Integrating Lakota Values into the Classroom
April 2022
The Woope Sakowin (Seven Laws) are universal virtues of the Lakota people that are a foundation of Lakota culture. They align with the asset-based goals of Universal Design for Learning (UDL): to develop expert learners who are 1) purposeful and motivated, 2) resourceful and knowledgeable, and 3) strategic and goal-directed. This EquiLearn Virtual Roundtable will highlight how the Woope Sakowin and UDL can be used to honor and engage every learner in a safe, adaptable, and creative learning environment.
