This EquiLearn Virtual Roundtable highlights how the Oceti Sakowin [oh-CHEH-tee shaw-KOH-we] “Seven Council Fires” Essential Understandings of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota people are being integrated into South Dakota K-12 schools, particularly in the Rapid City Area School (RCAS) District and Black Hills State University’s (BHSU) American Indian Education courses, serving as a model for other K-12 school districts and universities.
