This edition of the Equity Dispatch states that in order for educators to establish a classroom environment in which all students flourish, a paradigm shift of the function of classroom assessment must occur. The idea that adult decisions drive school effectiveness, and grades and test scores maximize student motivation and learning, must be reimagined in a way that does not exclude the learner, nor ignore students’ individual learning paths.
