Online Community Guidelines

 

 

Comment and posting policy (informed by Indiana University Community Guidelines, 2023 and the Library of Congress Comment and Posting Policy, 2021)

We welcome your participation and comments on our Center’s online sites and social media, as well as in our webinars, Virtual Roundtables, and online forums. Our online communities are governed by the general rules of respectful civil discourse. The Great Lakes Equity Center and the Midwest and Plains Equity Assistance Center do not discriminate against any views. We do actively monitor any user generated content and reserve the right to remove content that violates the guidelines below. Posts may be removed for any of the following reasons, at any time:

  • Content that contains abusive, vulgar, offensive, racist, sexist, ableist, anti-immigrant, anti-LBGTQ+, threatening or harassing content, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive terms that target specific groups or individuals.

  • Content advocating for violence or illegal activity.

  • Spam and content that promotes services or products or that involves political campaigning or lobbying.

  • Content that contains personal information whether your own or someone else's including home address, home or cell phone number, or personal e-mail address.

  • Gratuitous links to sites and repeat submissions of the same or similar contributions.

  • Duplicative comments by the same user or multiple users. In the case of identical comments only the first submission will be approved.

  • Advertisement or promotion of commercial products, services, entities, or individuals.

  • Posts violating intellectual property rights of any party, including copyright or trademark infringement.
