In this Families Learning from Families Virtual Roundtable entitled, Balancing Parenting During the Pandemic, Dr. Jada Phelps-Moultrie engages participants in how they feel regarding parenting/caregiving during the COVID-19 global pandemic, and offers a framework for participants to consider, “The Dimensions of Parent/Caregiver Burnout.” The first dimension is overwhelming exhaustion. The second dimension is emotional distancing. The third dimension is the sense of ineffectiveness. What follows is a guided discussion by Dr. Phelps-Moultrie and MAP Center staff, with Region III parents/caregivers, and their building on this framework, as well as collective meaning-making and resource sharing.
