This EquiLearn Virtual Roundtable provides an understanding/definition of rehumanizing mathematics and why “rehumanizing” is a more appropriate word choice than equity in mathematics education; discusses why students’ mathematical identities and ways of knowing should be honored in the mathematics classroom; and provides roadmaps/frameworks that can support school districts’ efforts to “rehumanize mathematics.”
