This academy focuses on developing awareness, approaches, and skills needed to transform current literacy practices into a more culturally responsive model. This shift is supported by data that demonstrates a continued achievement gap for marginalized students in our public schools (e.g. students of color, low socioeconomic status, students with disabilities, and English language learners).
