Renita is a current Urban Education doctoral student at Indiana University, Purdue University in Indianapolis (IUPUI). Renita’s research work is interdisciplinary and focuses on the schooling experiences of Black mothers as it relates to having a child (or multiple children) with learning accommodations in public school. Her work focuses on unveiling the ways in which schooling environments and systems marginalize communities of color. When time allows, she enjoys playing basketball, farming, creating new recipes (and memories) with her family, and reading.
