Tanya B. Ihlo, Ph.D.

Dr. Tanya Ihlo is a State Cadre Technical Assistance Specialist with the MAP Center. In this role, she provides collaborative consultation and professional learning for partners in Cadre I serving Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota and facilitates the Safe and Inclusive Schools Learning Network Cohort which includes districts from several states across the Center’s thirteen-state region. Dr. Ihlo is a Research Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Director of the Nebraska Multi-tiered System of Support Implementation Support Team (NeMTSS IST). In her role with the NeMTSS IST, Dr. Ihlo partners with district- and school-teams to examine their policies and practices to systematically plan for improvement in ensuring equitable academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports for all students to be successful. Dr. Ihlo has co-authored book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on positive behavior supports, multi-tiered reading interventions, use of coaching to support teachers in use of data to guide early literacy instruction, and early childhood consultation. She frequently presents at local, state, and national professional conferences.
