Michael Durrett, MS. Ed.
Michael was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. Being a product of Indianapolis Public Schools provided Michael with an educational experience that led him to wanting more exposure. Graduating from Northwest High School in 2003, Michael chose to continue his education at Purdue University – West Lafayette as a 21st Century Scholar and through obtaining various academic scholarships. Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Technology with a focus on Compute Graphics while receiving Associate Degrees in Organizational Leadership and Supervision and Computer Information Technology in 2008. Michael also received his Master of Science degree from the university from the School of Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership in 2011. Through various organizations, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated and Hanna Community Center, Michael became heavily involved in community service and eventually transitioned into the field of education. Michael was an administrator for grades PreK through 12th grade before enrolling in the Urban Education Studies Doctoral Program at Indiana University, Purdue University – Indianapolis. He currently serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of the Dean of Students with a research focus on community engaged research and as a graduate research assistant with Midwest and Plains Equity Assistance Center Cadre III for the states of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Michael is married to Jennifer Durrett for 10 years and has 3 children, Tiesyn – 10. Michael – 9, and Rylee – 7.
