Je’ Nobia Smith

Je’ Nobia L. Smith currently serves as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Midwest and Plains Equity Assistance Center (MAP Center).  She is a Doctoral Student in the Urban Education Studies Program at Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), where her research focuses on the experiences of historically marginalized groups of people in digital communities, with an emphasis on gaming and educational technology. Her research allows her to investigate the unique nature of digital systems of oppression and the impact they have on students in the physical world. Previously, Je’ Nobia studied applied linguistics through Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and worked with Native American and Indigenous Studies at IUPUI.
